Event Date - January 16 & 23, 2011 The Christchurch Multicultural Council (CMC) had organised the Global 7s Cricket Tournament on two consecutive Sundays, 16th and 23rd January 2011. The tournament was held for the second year in a row, with players drawn from different countries like Afghanistan, England, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, besides New Zealand.
The cricketing event held at Hagley Park in Christchurch saw twelve teams participating with seven players in each team and seven overs a side.
Abacus Seniors participated for the first time and bagged the second Runners-up. Aravind from Abacus Sr. remained the highest scorer and Rohit Sharma was the sole hat-tricker of the tournament.
Event Date - December 15, 2010 The Abacusians had organised Abacus End-of-the-Year Cricket on 15th December, 2010. The meet that was all organised by the student community, was filled with fun and excitement. The students polished up their throws & shots and also displayed some very good on-the-field and between-the-wickets running.
Event Date - October 17, 2010 "Bhangra performers from Abacus Institute of Studies (New Zealand) enthralls the Audience at Christchurch Diwali function at Victoria Square on 17th Oct 2010. Abacus Institute of Studies being the member of NZ Diversity Action programme, promotes cultural values and conveys the message that students may be away from their homes but not away from their culture."
