The Institute's fee refund process fully meets the requirements of NZQA/MoE/TEC regulations, making sure that the students are clear about the withdrawal and refund requirements. The Refund Schedule forms the integral part of this policy.
PROCEDURES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
~ Students who intend to withdraw from any of the courses shall lodge a written application to withdraw and request for a refund to the Principal. Students need to state the reasons for withdrawal from the Institute.
~ The Principal approves or declines the withdrawals providing reasons for his decision. Where the Principal approves, the application is forwarded to the Finance Director to arrange for appropriate refunds to be paid to the students concerned.
~ The Finance Director shall be accordingly guided by the Refund Schedule below on the amount to be refunded. In instances where a course is being cancelled, the Institute shall arrange for a full refund of fees paid by the students. In the event that a course is cancelled part way through due to unforeseen circumstances, a proportional refund of fees paid will be given.
FEE REFUND SCHEDULE
The amount of refund depends on the course length (period of
enrolment) and on the period between the start of the course
and the application for withdrawal.
~ Withdrawal within the first 10 working days from commencement of the course: Students are entitled to full fee refund, less up to 25% of total fee (based on actual expense incurred).
~ Withdrawal after the 10th working day from commencement of the course: No fee refund is available. |
