1. How is the climate in Hastings?
» Hastings area experiences hot summers with sunshine hours ranking over 2200 annually while rainfall averages less than 800 mm. It is one of New Zealand's warmest places and the hottest urban centre in the summer months. It is quite common for temperatures to rise above 30°C during summers, while during winters, maximum highs of between 17°C to 20°C are common, with north-westerly winds blowing through the season.
2. What type of clothes should I bring along with me? Is there any special clothing requirement?
» You would require light clothing during most part of the year. You may though keep, light winter stuff, which you may wear when it is slightly cool. New Zealand has a casual approach regarding dress standards. T-shirts, sweat shirts and jeans are fine here.
