The Institute is committed to ensuring that students are provided with adequate guidance and support services. It is a signatory to the Ministry of Education Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.
Abacus Institute considers the likely feelings and responses of international students coming to an unfamiliar culture. Tutors are there to provide the necessary academic support, while the Head of Student Affairs provides the welfare support and the Principal forms part of the overall student support system. The Institute has ensured that the premises is safe, comfortable and congenial. The administration also ensures at all times that the students' learning needs are met, and that barriers to their progress are minimised.
